It sounds like you can remove Black Canary from that list (only because they seem to consider it done-in-one) and JLA will be dropping off once v8 is official.

There -- we just cleared two spots for Hawkman and Atom.

Could I please ask you for a confirmation on this. I'm actually someone who would love to see a NTT vol 2, so am curious to find out the source of this information.

I know that there are a couple of NTT tpbs coming up, but I had previously heard nothing about another Archive edition.

Thanks.

Thanks. A bit vague, but I hope it turns out to be true.

BTW, I noticed that there will be a DC Direct item featuring the NTT in August. See http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0301/23/dcdirect.htm

Here's the text:

CLASSIC TEEN TITANS BOX SET

Get the entire Classic Teen Titans lineup in one boxed set, featuring for the first time ever Beast Boy & The Monkey action figures. The Classic Teen Titans Box Set also includes re-colored versions of the sold-out Raven, Cyborg and Starfire figures! Raven is a vision in her white ensemble while Cyborg, in gold, can destroy anything with his guns-for-hands. The beautiful princess Koriand'r, also known as Starfire, features "light-up action." Touch the button on her belt and her hair and eyes magically light up! Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire and Cyborg all come with multiple points of articulation and each include a base. These Action Figures are based on a 6" scale with Monkey measuring approximately 3" tall. With a new Teen Titans animated series set to debut on Cartoon Network, now is the time to get in on Titans fever with this amazing boxed set. Packaged in a 4-color gift window box.

Price TBA, in stores on Aug. 20

If we see an NTT Archive, it will be on or about Aug 20th.

Excuse me?
If these are the Classic Teen Titans, then what is the 1960s version?

Paraphrasing JoeQ: "Your Grandfather's Teen Titans"?

Ah, yes. When I'm definately on board. Bizarrely, the GA Hawkman IS part of DCU continuity. He even takes over the role originally given the SA Hawkman in early JLA stories...

Updating the list of Forgotten Archives, through the expected May '03 solicitations. These are the Archive lines that have been waiting at least 24 months for a follow-up.

51 months: New Teen Titans (Feb '99)

46 months: GA Flash (Jul '99)
39 months: Superman (Feb '00)
37 months: GA Starman (Apr '00)

33 months: Dark Knight (Aug '00)
32 months: Hawkman (Sep '00)
26 months: Batman (Mar '01)

We have our first release from captivity:
27 months: Justice League (Feb '01 to May '03) See you again in May '05!

Since there are now 30 lines, I expect almost everything will end up spending some time on this list in the future.

I'm also retiring Black Canary from the list, since I expect any further Archiving will be in conjuction with Green Arrow.

Appearing with the June announcements will be the Atom

I'm guessing that all seven members of the current list will be released by the end of 2004. Of course, others will replace them...

BearPaws, why do you think JLA will drop off after v8? I'm hoping DC will continue at least through the special 100th issue. -Cheers, Will C.

I'm not Bear Paws, but I'd imagine that the end of the Fox/Sekowsky period would be a convenient jumping-off place for a lot of people. It may, of course, be a jumping-on place for others, but I'd expect them to be fewer.

For the purposes of this thread "dropping off" means you're getting a new book, so the current JLA drought, now at 2 years, gets reset to 0 when vol. 8 comes out in May.

I'm hoping they continue to forge ahead, at least for another 4 or 5 volumes.

BearPaws was referring to dropping from the list. Indeed, JLA dropped off the list with the announcement of Volume 8 coming in May. The list contains those features that are waiting 24 months or more fo the next volume, and JLA is now waiting 0 months.

If the solicitation for June doesn't have "Atom Arcives, V2" (and no one expects it), then Atom joins the list with 24 months since the last release.

Many thanks, guys, for the clarification of "dropping off" (yeah, I'm still new, much to learn). Whew, and I was sweating ... I would like to see all the archives keep going for years to come. Gracias, Will C.

Updating the list of Forgotten Archives, through the June '03 solicitations. These are the Archive lines that have been waiting at least 24 months for a follow-up.

48-59 months
52 months: New Teen Titans (Feb '99)

36-47 months
47 months: GA Flash (Jul '99)
38 months: GA Starman (Apr '00)

24-35 months
34 months: Dark Knight (Aug '00)
33 months: Hawkman (Sep '00)
27 months: Batman (Mar '01)
24 months: Atom (Jun '01)

We have another release from captivity:
40 months: Superman (Feb '00 to Jun '03) And there is much rejoicing!

We have another addition: Atom has waited 2 years for a sequel.

On deck: Superman in Action will make the list with the July solicitation.

35 months: Dark Knight (Aug '00)

This month's rookie is "Superman: The Action Comics Archives".

On deck is Blackhawk, with September's solicitation.

Notice where we are with the above series: Volume 1, Volume 1, Volume 1, Volume 1, Volume 5, Volume 1, Volume 3. On deck, another Volume 1. Seems like there's almost as big hurdle getting a Volume 2 as there is getting a Volume 1, no?

Yes.

We know, however, that both New Titans (in '04) and Atom (in '03) will get their second volumes soon.

Hawkman looks really likely to me for '04 too--can't understand why this one went so long, given its high initial sale.

And I'll be surprised if we don't get one or both of GA Flash and GA Starman next year.
